What is a silicone lube?

Silicone lubricant is thicker and slicker than water-based lube, and it lasts much longer, since it does not absorb into the skin. It is a favourite for long sessions, for anal play and for the shower or the bath, because it does not wash off easily.

It is safe with latex condoms but should not be used with silicone toys, as it can damage the surface. It is also harder to wash off, so use soap and water. A little goes a long way. Choose a silicone lube that is free of fragrance and flavour if you have sensitive skin.

Spill-proof pump bottles are a good choice for the shower, and a spot of silicone lube on a towel can stain, so keep it away from fabrics.
