Flavoured lubricants

Flavoured lubes are designed for oral sex and add a taste that is sweet, fruity or even a little cheeky. They are usually water-based, so they are safe with condoms and dental dams, and they give a smooth, wet feel.

They are meant for external and oral use. Many contain sugar, which can irritate the vagina and may cause yeast infections, so avoid using flavoured lubes for vaginal or anal penetration unless the label says they are suitable. Choose a sugar-free option if you are prone to irritation, and keep the cap closed to keep the lubricant fresh.

Try a small amount first, because taste is personal. Many people like to keep one for oral play and a separate unflavoured one for penetration.
